Episode Two: OMG BEAUTY SHOW

Hey Beauty Besties! I can’t believe episode 2 is here, you don’t want to miss out on all these hacks.

Let’s talk makeup. You know as well as I do that no makeup look is complete without a greatmascara. Girl, I have been using this mascara for around 12 years. When I say that this is my favorite mascara I’m not kidding around.

Blinc Ultra Volume Tubing mascara is extremely long wearing - you can cry, sweat or rub your eyes and it won’t smudge. I love that the matte black formula is buildable so that I can go from day to night. This mascara is great for those with active lifestyles or long days and those with sensitive or oily skin.

Before I apply my mascara, I like to crimp my eyelashes for added volume. Make sure to do this BEFORE you apply mascara or eyeliner to avoid smudging or leaving unwanted marks. Start at the base of your lashes and then move to the ends of maximum lift.

Now, let’s move onto hair. Who else has struggled with their curling iron being too short? This can make it extremely challenging to do your own hair at home. I have the perfect solution for you! The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Extended Barrel has a barrel that is 2 inches longer than traditional curling barrels, making this the perfect curling iron for you ladies with long hair. This iron creates curls that are made to last! I swear I can get 3-5 days out of these curls – invest in quality tools and your hair will thank you later.

I use this 1” Long Barrel Curling Iron to create my “Kinda Curl”. I like to use the 1” because it keeps my hair long – don’t you hate when your curl your hair and it instantly feels short? This technique allows you to keep your length while also achieving volume and body.

Here are my tips:

Always use heat protection
Don’t overheat curling iron – I recommend 350 for fine, color treated hair, and around 375-400 for coarse hair
Always curl away from the face for a beachyvibe
Give each section a tug after you curl it to stretch it out
Curl smaller sections for more volume
Make sure your hair is completely cooled off before you spray any product
I love to use my hands and finger tips to shake out and separate my curls

This week on my #BeautyBestie segment, I am very excited to feature Mai Hernandez @maimaihair. She is a color correction specialist who posts amazing tutorials based out of California. She showed us how to use Joico’sRiseUp Powder to add volume to flat hair! This is the perfect substitution for teasing hair.

Elevate limp hair in seconds with just a couple puffs! RiseUp Powder delivers instant volume at the root as well as a light texture throughout hair. Focusing around the top of your head and crown, add 1-2 pumps of RiseUp. This product gives you long-lasting, flexible hold and my favorite part is the mess free application.

All right Bestie, remember to be kind to yourself. Life can be hard but we can be so much harder on ourselves. I recommend journaling and writing things down. I have what I like to call a“anxiety journal” where I can write about all the things that are holding me back from pursuing my dreams. Putting things down on paper just help make it real. Sometimes you just have to write it out and come up with a plan. This help you make a clear purpose, I promise it will help you get over the things that are holding you back.
